I have only been to this festival once before and this year I got to enjoy going 2 nights. I didn't go to the carnival, I just enjoyed the food but the music wasn't the best. With it being out in the country, I would have thought they'd have had some live country music. Oh well, all in all I had a great time and the weather was perfect.
There is always friendly local people that welcomes the large crowds to our town. The is a grand parade on Sat and a car show on Sunday a kid's day parade on Friday local crafts downtown vendors selling a great variety of foods. A Queens coranation and a black powder shoot on Sunday. There is something for all ages and everyone has a great time at the carnival.
If you enjoy parades, and a town steeped in nostalgia... then the WV Black Walnut Festival is something you should consider... The town of Spencer is on the move...and puts on a first class event!
It's a festival. To many people and everything is priced to hi but seems well planned.
The BWF last thur-sun. They have food, rides, parade, fireworks, carshow, ffa, fleamarket, and live music.
